Stacy C. Ferguson graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1990 after receiving her undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin in 1986. Before joining the firm, she served as in-house counsel for the San Antonio Independent School District and then as Head of Special Education Litigation while a shareholder at Schwartz & Eichelbaum, P.C.
Ms. Ferguson frequently conducts seminars for educators on topics such as sexual harassment, access to student records, child abuse and special education, as well as the liability and legal issues relating to school counselors and school psychologists. She created and developed the popular workshops “Legal Issues for School Nurses” and “Legal Issues for School Counselors.” She is a member of the Texas Council of School Attorneys, the Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education, the State Bar of Texas School Law Section, the San Antonio Bar Association and the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association, which honored her in 1994 as their Outstanding Young Women’s Lawyer. Ms. Ferguson is licensed to practice in the federal courts for the Western District of Texas. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of student discipline, special education and disabilities law.
